The teacher

Luciana Caixeta is registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has completed teacher training in books 1, 2 and 3. She is trained in Family Music for Toddlers through Musikgarten. She teaches private and group lessons at the Young Musicians’ Program at Miami University and at her private studio.

She began her musical studies at the Brasilia Professional Music School in Brazil. Later she studied with Elisa Fukuda and performed with the Fukuda Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Experimental of Repertoire, Santo Andre Symphony Orchestra, Sao Caetano Philharmonic Orchestra and Sao Paulo State Youth Orchestra.

In 2005 Luciana was awarded a graduate assistantship at Miami University to study with Dr. Harvey Thurmer. She performed as principal second violin of the Miami University Symphony Orchestra and violinist of the University’s Graduate String Quartet while serving as a teaching assistant.

An active performer, she has appeared as principal second violin of the Middletown and Hamilton-Fairfield Symphonies. She also performs regularly with the Lebanon Symphony and the Presser String Quartet. Luciana also enjoys performing with her husband and violinist Ricardo Palmezano.
